Jingwei Zhang was born in Henan, China in 1975 and worked for Henan university from 2000 up to now. In 2013, he spent one year as a visiting scholar at the Ian Wark Institute in University of South Australia. After spending 15 years on the faculty of the Key Laboratory for Special Functional Materials, he joined the Engineering Research Center for Nanomaterials as the deputy director in 2015 where he is presently the Distinguished Professor of Material Chemistry and Physics and principal investigator in preparation of nanomaterials. His research interest is focused on the synthesis of energy-related nanomaterials, especially on large-scale synthesis methods and industrial applications of nanomaterials. His group has completed the pilot-scale synthesis of several kinds of nanomaterials, among them, the preparation process for the nano-ATO has been transferred to Jiyuan Shunfeng Nanotechnology Co., Ltd. and industrial-scale produced. Zhang has over 70 journal publications and 6 patents with an H-index=20 and total citations over 1800.
