Prof. Zhijun Zhang, born in Oct. 1958, has worked in Henan University for more than 20 years since he acquired his Ph.D. degree from Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Science in 1996. His research focuses on the synthesis and application of hybrid nanomaterials, including the systematic investigation on the formation mechanism of surfaced-modified, dispersible nanoparticles and innovative application in many fields such as lubrication, rubber industry, liquid silicone rubber, polymers and inks. He has conquered the challenges of nanoparticles in both industrialized production and application and developed some creative technologies. He has chaired 1 Major State Basic Research program (973 sub-project), 2 National Hi-tech Research and Development Program of China (863), 4 NSFC programs, several provincial and ministerial-level programs and enterprise-sponsored projects. He has published more than 300 SCI papers with a citation of 4500 and obtained 46 authorized patents. Moreover, he has 11 appraisal achievements, among which 6 achievements has been industrialized and obtained patent technology transfer fee up to 21.4 million yuan. Dispersible nanocopper as additives in lubricating oil has been industrialized and widely used on the market. In addition, he also got some honours such as distinguished Professor in Henan province, executive director in China tribological society, excellent expert in Henan Provicne and enjoyed State Council special allowance.
