Our group is one of the leading pioneers engaged in Helicene Chemistry in China. Our current research interests are in the area of Organic Chemistry including organic functional materials, organic photochemistry, supramolecular chemistry and polymer science with emphasis on the design, synthesis, and study of molecules with novel molecular structures and chemical/physical properties. The objective is to design and prepare new class of organic materials such as thiophene-based helicenes, dendrimers, symmetrical/unsymmetrical dithienoheteroaromatic rings with conducting, (chiro)optical and photophysical properties (e.g. organic field effect transistors, organic solar cell and dye sensitized solar cell).
