The National & Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Applied Technology of Hybrid Nanomaterials invited Professor Hongxian Han of Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences to visit the center on July 26, 2018.  He gave an academic report entitled “Artificial Photosynthetic Solar Fuel”. The report was chaired by Professor Jianjun Yang. Some of the teachers and graduate students of the Center, Key Laboratory for Special Functional Materials and the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering took part in the academic meeting.

In the report, the artificial photosynthetic fuel known as the Holy Grail of Science was briefly described. Finally, the latest research progress on the key scientific issues of artificial photosynthetic solar fuel was discussed. On this basis, the feasible path and development trend of artificial photosynthetic solar fuel in the future were rationally explored. After the report, the teachers and students communicated and discussed with Prof. Han in-depth. Through this exchange meeting, the teachers and students learned about some key scientific issues and research ideas in the field of artificial photosynthetic solar fuel.
