On Aug 2, 2019, HongShuai Hou at Central South University was invited to visit ERN, giving the lecture entitled “Carbon quantum dot-based energy storage materials”. This lecture mainly introduces the microstructures, basic characteristics and potential applications of carbon quantum dots. Besides, associate professor Hou introduced the research status of carbon quantum dots prepared by the room reaction between acetone/acetaldehyde and sodium hydroxide.

P.S. Hongshuai Hou, associate professor, worked at Central South University, His current research interests include synthesis and electrochemical performances of carbon quantum dots and its derived materials as electrode materials for lithium/sodium/ potassium -ion batteries. Up to now, he has more than 30 papers published in the top journals such as Advanced Materials, Advanced Energy Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, Advanced Science and Nano Energy. Besides, he has also applied more than 30 national invention patents.
